Access Panels and Retractable Ladders

 

Access Panels Direct Ltd (APD), are the UK’s leading manufacturer and stockists of access panels.  We can now offer a retractable ZIP access ladder. This enables easy access to the roof space or floor above.

The pull-down access ladders are for heavy duty use. They work as a perfect combination to our ceiling access panels. Our ZIP retractable ladders are available in four standard sizes. Available in ceiling heights of up to 3.4 metres. They can take a maximum loading of 200kg / tread or 500kg / m2  of the overall structure.  Optional extras for our ZIP retractable ladders include the following. A telescopic handrail which can be fitted to a single side or both.  Wall mounted rungs which act as additional steps within the ceiling aperture.  A top operating lever mechanism which only applies to our ZIP8 models, allows operation of the ladder from above.  Our access panels act as an excellent way to conceal the ladder once in it’s closed position.

 

 

In addition, a bespoke, made to order ‘Zip 8’ model can extend up to 4.6 metres. It includes a wooden trap door and casing. This ladder is also available with a top operating mechanism, can be electrically operated. Fire rated for 30 or 90 minutes is another option.
